Anyway... it has been a very busy and very long week (and it's only Wednesday and we had Monday off - haha!) and I could curl up in a ball and sleep until Monday.

Yes, you are on the right blog... I am still me... the insomniac, but I am really just ready for some downtime tonight. :)

But I couldn't rest without telling you all about how precious my kids are to me. Yes. Again.

Last night, I hooked my Ipod up to my aux connection in the car (oh yeah... a perk I totally shopped for) and the kids and I jammed out to the Taylor Swift CD on our way home from our last basketball practice of the season. Bailey loves it, but hasn't listened to all of the songs, mainly because I haven't taken the time to learn how to burn CDs from my Ipod downloads (yes, this is something I'm planning to learn, among other things). Anyway, we got to a song that Taylor Swift supposedly wrote for her niece (or nephew, I can't recall). The song (lyrics to follow) is basically telling this child to never grow up, thus the title Never Grow Up. :)

As it came on, I told the kids I liked this song because it made me think of them. About halfway through the song, I look in the mirror and see my sensitive daughter wiping away tears. I didn't say anything, because I could see that she didn't want me to see her. It touches my heart so much that she is so sweet... that she is growing up so much and already understanding such emotion and love. I hope she treasures our relationship as much as I do.

Aww... how I really wish she never would have to grow up. :)

For those of you who would like to read the lyrics, here ya go!

Never Grow Up:

Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in and turn on your favorite nightlight

To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have honey
If you could stay like that

(Chorus:)
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you
Wont let no one break your heart
No one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Never grow up

You're in the car on the way to the movies
And you're mortified your mama's dropping you off
At 14, there's just so much you can't do
And you can't wait to move out
Someday and call your own shots

But don't make her drop you off around the block
Remember she's getting older too
And don't lose the way that you dance around in your PJs getting ready for school

(Chorus:)
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up

It could stay this simple
No one's ever burned
Nothing's ever left you scarred
Even though you want to, just try to never grow up

Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room
Memorize what is sounded like what your dad gets home
Remember the footsteps, remember the words said
And all your little brother's favorite songs
I just realized everything I had is someday gonna be gone

So here I am in my new apartment
In a big city, they just dropped me off
It's so much colder than I thought it would be
So I tuck myself in and turn my nightlight on

Wish I'd never grown up
I wish I'd never grown up
Oh I don't wanna grow up
Wish I'd never grown up
Could still be little
Oh I don't wanna grow up
It could still be simple

(Chorus:)
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
Won't let nobody hurt you
Won't let no one break your heat
And even throuhg toyu want to, please try to never grow up
Don't you ever grow up
Just never grow up
